7/24: Summer 2012 Fusion - Players Needed

The Fusion will undego a few changes as we enter our EIGHTH season of play during the summer of 2012.  We will become an independent travel team registered with the ASA and will carry a roster of 12-14 players. 

We will play 5-6 tournaments starting June 9th and will end the season after the 18U-A State Tournament the weekend of July 14th.  We will not be playing in any college exposure tournaments and may play one out of state tournament. 

After Nationals next week (Aug 1-7), we will  know how many openings we will have for the 2012 squad. It is likely we will be adding 3-4 players. We know a lot of teams and players so a tryout may not be necessary. All we would ask for is a non refundable deposit to hold your spot and your committment.

I would like to thank the BNGSA for providing the Fusion an opportunity to play in their organization for seven years.  It has been a great journey and we have been able to navigate around a lot of obstacles on the way.  We started from scratch, worked our way from the B level all the way to a top "A" level travel team in the State of Illinois.  For various reasons it makes sense for us to become an independent travel team for 2012.  We have always been committed to winning and losing with class. Most of all, we have been able to develop the girls into to some pretty darn good softball players.  Many are going to play in college at various levels.  We will continue this legacy in 2012 and maybe beyond if 23U softball offers us an opportunity to move up in 2013.
